Vehicle bill of sale generator

Enter one vehicle transfer, review the draft, and download copies for seller and buyer. This generic document does not replace official title or disclosure paperwork.

Your entries stay in this page's memory. Preview loads static font files from this site; entries are not included in those requests. No lookup, upload or automatic saving.

Enter a transaction or load the fictional example.

A blank sale price is not a gift. For a gift, clear the sale price or enter 0. Gift value and relationship apply only to gifts.

Odometer information

This is not a federal odometer certification. We do not determine exemptions. Complete any required title and official odometer disclosure.

Terms and signatures

The parties record the identified vehicle's transfer for the stated consideration. This record does not transfer title or replace required official forms. Printed signatures and dates are left blank.

Applicable law and agreed warranties may limit AS IS. It does not remove rights or obligations that the law preserves.

Up to 2,000 Unicode characters, with line breaks. All entries together must fit 16 KiB and four pages per copy. Text is printed literally.

Generic template. Check your state's title and odometer requirements. Not legal advice.

Review before downloading

Complete Sale, Seller, Buyer, Vehicle and Terms. The preview remains a marked draft until required fields pass validation. A sale needs a positive price; Gift records $0 consideration explicitly.

The supported VIN has 17 characters and a check digit. The check catches some transcription errors; it does not verify ownership, authenticity, make or model year. Older and nonstandard identifiers are unsupported.

Fictional worked example

Load fictional example to inspect the workflow without entering personal information. Review the sale date, price, parties and odometer status before downloading. Both PDF copies use the same validated transaction, with blank signature and date lines.

Document and font limits

The PDF contains selectable text in embedded local fonts, with a minimum 11 pt body size. Unsupported glyphs or shaping are refused instead of silently replaced. Longer terms can continue onto extra pages.

Odometer information here is not the required federal disclosure. Age and other exemptions depend on the applicable rules. An optional AS IS term does not remove rights or warranties that law preserves. No VIN lookup service is contacted. Draft data stays in memory; public fonts and scripts are requested from this site.

Frequently asked questions

Can I enter a pre-1981 or nonstandard VIN?

That identifier format is unsupported. Keep your draft and consult official requirements; the tool will not label it ready or export a populated document.

Does a passing check digit prove the vehicle is legitimate?

No. It is a transcription check only.

Why was a name refused in the PDF?

The embedded fonts and supported text shaping must cover the text. The tool refuses unsupported text before delivery rather than replacing it with boxes.

What does AS IS mean here?

It is an optional agreed term. Applicable law and any warranties can limit its effect; this tool does not decide enforceability.

Does it decide an odometer exemption?

No. It records the chosen status and directs you to the official disclosure and title requirements.
